Latest: Energy Retrofitting of Refugee Housing

Accommodation for asylum seekers is currently a big challenge for municipalities in Baden-Württemberg. Vacant and abandoned buildings need to be immediately prepared to provide suitable housing for medium- and even long-term use. Constrained by the lack of time, staff and other resources to deal with the ongoing refugee surge, the energy standards of these buildings remain often unconsidered.

The State Energy Agency KEA, in cooperation with the working group “Energy Performance Contracting”, which is part of the Heat Supply Association (VfW), now offers customized Energy Contracting Model, which will help municipalities in carrying out energy retrofitting of refugee housing rapidly and sustainably.
